A whirlwind romance and proposal sweeps Marcy off her feet, even though Ben has some hint of a cloud in his past. Marcy agrees to go to Aronov Point and meet Ben's rather bizarre family.

She is impressed with the old southern mansion, but soon finds out that Ben's overbearing grandmother certainly did not want him to marry a little 'nobody' like her. The very air is poisoned with past hatred and jealousy. Worse than that, there is a ghost stalking Aronov Point, one determined to also see that Marcy does not wed the handsome Aronov heir.
